Willie’s pieces were amongst the first I started way back at the beginning of the project nearly 2 years ago. Willies story is particularly important, as he was the first patient whose skin grafts involved tubing the raw areas of the connecting pedicles to keep them free from infection.
Because Willies uniform has quite a few layers I’m going to keep what I do with his surgery quite simple. The flap which was lifted from his chest to his face (Masonic collar flap) is neatly delineated by the cut of his jersey. I show this flap outline after the pedicles and chin flap are in place and later, I will add directional arrows to indicate where the flap shifted from chest to face.
This is proving pretty tricky so Ill be back on this later.
